The Leeuwarden City of Literature Creative Writing Programme offers writers the opportunity to develop their skills in various genres and at different levels.
The programme is designed to promote an active writing culture and help talented writers become more professional. Literary translation and close collaboration between writers and translators are an essential part of the programme. The programme draws on the combined expertise of Productiehuis Explore the North, Tryater, Meeuw Jonge Schrijvers, New Noardic Wave, Iepen Up, Dichter bij Leeuwarden, Afûk and Tresoar. As part of their commitment to knowledge-sharing and multilingualism, representatives from the Leeuwarden City of Literature network deliver guest lectures, masterclasses and translation workshops.
